The occupational health and safety training takes place as helping people to learn the ways of a work done, telling them what to do and what not to do, or just informing them. We accomplish our activities with the awareness that training is not just about formal "classroom" courses, obtaining a certificate to meet the legal requirements, and working.
While planning and organizing Occupational Health and Safety training, we believe;
An effective training;
Will contribute to our employees to be competent in health and safety.
Will ensure the elimination of psychological, social, and financial problems that may be caused by accidents and diseases.
Activities performed out of classrooms ensure the training to be more effective.
Toolbox training and work field orientation have been observed to be effective in conveying the safety terms, understanding of hazards and their control, and adopting good practices.
The training activities that we primarily and periodically organize can be sorted as 'basic occupational health and safety training, induction training, toolbox training, high-risk activities, emergency support team, returning to work.'
Training activities cover subcontractor/supplier employees, short-term employees, visitors, and interns except for Cemre Shipyard personnel.
Before the employee physically starts to work, engineers, technicians, and foremen who are knowledgeable about the work to be done, necessary equipment, occupational health, and safety measures specific to the workplace provide this practice training.
Basic health and safety training, each lasts 16 hours in 2 working days, is provided three times a week to every employee entering the shipyard.
Employees attending and completing their training year are provided with 16 hours of distance or formal annual refreshing training.
Within the scope of an arranged program, significantly risky activities, dangerous actions, near-misses, accident investigation reports, and monthly Health and Safety reports are shared with the employees at least half an hour every weekday before the start of work.
We provide training on the causes of the accident and the occupational disease, prevention methods, and safe working techniques to the employees returning to work after an accident or an occupational disease.
During the training, we evaluate if the accident affected the person psychologically. On the condition of finding a remarkable effect, the employee and managers get informed.
We provide training on the state of emergency to all personnel. Through their defined duties; authorized people periodically provide planned training on fire, search and rescue, and first aid to the employees in the emergency support teams.
We inform our employees on epidemic diseases and protection measures with basic health and safety training in particular, online and toolbox training.
Besides the routine training activities above that are held to ensure a healthy and safe working environment, we organize training on the issues of working at height, working with dangerous chemicals, and working in a closed area aiming to create a health&safety culture embraced by all employees.
