NB1090 Futura, the world's largest zero-emission freight ferry with its 10 MWh battery system, was launched to the sea on 25th November as the 90th vessel that met the sea at Cemre Shipyard.

Scheduled to operate on the Puttgarden-Rødby route in 2024, the vessel is being built for the Danish ferry operator Scandlines. This eco-friendly vessel is equipped with sustainable and innovative systems onboard such as Battery system and SRTP compliance. Thanks to the hybrid diesel/battery electric propulsion, the vessel can feature in two different modes as fully electrical relying on plug-in battery power at 10 knots, or plug-in hybrid mode at 16 knots. The design is also prepared for future upgrades to the methanol ICE solution.

A special thank you to everyone who made this possible.
