Cemre Shipyard signed contract with Basto Fosen towards the end of 2014. Bastø Fosen has received the license to operate the ferry route Horten – Moss, which is the busiest ferry route in the Oslofjord, in the period 2017-2026. Also, Norwegian designer Multi Maritime has signed design contractfor the ferry for Basto Fosen. DnV class and Multi Maritime design ferry (MM 139FD) is 142,9 meters long and 20,7 meters wide. It will provide a capacity of 600 passengers, 200 cars and between 24 to 30 trucks, depending on size. The vessel has two main engines to be installed at each end of the vessel. Each engine has power 2250 kW @ 900 rpm and in accordance with IMO Tier III. The ferries has been designed for low energy consumption and emissions. The ferry is known as “Super Ferries” as the fuel consumtion of the vessel is 25-30% less and  the engines will emit over 80% less NOx than the existing ferries. The vessel will be delivered in the 4th quarter of 2016. With this vessel, Cemre Shipyard will expand the diversity of experience!
