These parts need different type of marine vessels; jack-up, heavy lift vessel, W2W vessel, windfarm service and support vessel for turbines and sub-stations, cable layer, crew supply vessel, multipurpose vessel and accommodation/crane vessel, etc. in order to build new windfarms, service & support current areas or re-install the old ones.

The required vessels are combining with new trend technologies of energy saving, reduced emission and safer working area onboard solutions. Everyday electricity unit price is reducing thanks to expanded windfarms, but also this price reduction forces the companies and builders to try to reduce operational costs continuously additional to clean energy effort as global. Reducing the operation cost and NOX emission means that technology has to evolve for lessen fuel consumption with maximum efficiency and energy recovery solutions which provide to need minimum power requirement.

According to end-user’s demands, the vessels can be newbuilding based on tailor-made solutions with new rules, requirements and technologies or conversion into wind turbine service / supply vessels with minor or major modifications. Researches and future windfarm power goals show us these newbuilding or modified vessels to be required at least in further 10 years which is the common number in chartering segments. The direction of increases in new vessels operated in offshore windfarms also may change initial costs and starting time of the huge projects with a positive impact as well. In other words, the increase in the construction of offshore vessels may increase wind activities as a win-win situation.
